This doesn't just have to be for Father's Day - you could make one of these as a gift to fill anyone's bucket! You will need: Popsicle/craft sticks (the fatter ones work great), paints & brush, sharpie markers, hot glue gun, scissors, and ribbon or a shoelace about 18 inches or 45 cm long.
Step 1: Paint the sticks (one side is OK). Let paint dry. Step 2: Brainstorm what you love about your special person (1 idea for each Popsicle stick). Write it down on paper first as a draft to make sure you get it right. With your Sharpie marker, make the first stick: Things I Love About _______. (Put your special person's name in the blank spot!) Step 4: Copy one idea onto each Popsicle stick using the Sharpie marker. Step 5: Turn all the Popsicle sticks over so the backs of them are showing, making sure the sticks are in the correct order (the stick with their name on the top). Sign the back of one of the other sticks. **ADULT HELP FOR THIS PART NEEDED** Glue 2 diagonal strips of hot glue on the backs of the Popsicle sticks (like in the picture below) and put the ribbon (or shoelace) on top of the hot glue (press in carefully - this will hold it all together). |
